Here's me triple-posting in this thread, but oh well Just finished watching the first two eps of JF, and I have to say I'm pleasantly surprised!!! I really enjoyed it. Surprised me a couple times, not very predictable, and I liked the characters-- as characters, even if I didn't like them personally. Casey's a cutie, and a nice change, Lily is beautiful, and the same. Theo was an ass, and SO short, lol, but I liked the idea of him. RJ wasn't what I expected, I love how kick-ass he was even though he was a goofy nut. Camille= hot. Jared is kinda creepy. Master Mao was awesome. Fran isn't annoying. Umm . . . guys costumes suck, but I like Lily's a lot. Not a fan of the footsoldiers. The zord is different, I like how they actually still fight. Nice chemistry and acting-- no annoying accents! I like the dynamic they all have and I'm looking forward to seeing more of it! In a way, it kinda reminds me of Sentai. Not sure why. This is the first time since SPD that I've even wanted to see more!

I pretty much agree with everything Myriah said! I'm so excited, it's been a LONG time since I actually cared enough to want to see more (since probably even before SPD for me). But this season has me intrigued, and I'm hopeful. They all hid their accents very well (besides Jarrod, who was a little cringeworthy, but at least not PROO cringy!); I thought Casey was sweet and very sympathetic, Theo was a dick but reminded me of Kai so I like him (he's so SHORT!!!), and Lily was beautiful and seemed like she'd be a good character. Holly did a better job as Camille than I thought she would do, too. And I love RJ and Fran ;D And FINALLY! It's about damn time we had some Rangers who knew their kung fu! And wtf was that little bug thing that Camille threw up? Throughout the entire episode, Myriah and I couldn't figure out what Jarrod's name was because of the way the Master kept pronouncing it. Just sounded like "Jrrrrrr....", lol. The megazord was pretty cool, and that's coming from someone who HATES zord fights. That was all random, but yeah, I liked it!!! ;D

I don't really want to judge the season quite yet, but I did like the episode. I'm interested, so we'll see how it goes from here.
I did immediately think Ninja Storm, which was good, because I liked that season. The theme song was pretty good, its my favorite since Dino Thunder by a long shot. The beat was awesome. I'm thinking it's a good mix between NS & DT with a pinch of WF.
RJ seemed cool enough, he cracks me up, and I liked Fran too. She just makes me smile.
Casey was really cool, I like how he and Theo didn't connect right away. It kept things interesting for me. But dang, Theo is seriously short. I used to think that Lilly was just really freakishly tall, but then RJ and Casey were both taller than her so Theo was just really tiny XD. Lilly seems cool, I think she'll be my favorite ranger of the season, but I like them all a lot, so I'm not completely sure yet. Casey has a good chance at being my favorite too. & I'm thinking RJ & Fran, Lilly & Casey >.> But it's too early to really tell. ^_^ Casey and RJ...whoa, they're cute lol.
I don't really like the ranger suit designs, but I'll get used to them, and while the tights under the skirt for Lilly's uniform is tacky, that's how a lot of people wear skirts around here. I don't think I've seen a person wear just a skirt around here since freshman year, which was four and a half years ago >.> So I'm used to it. But The uniforms are fine.
The sunglasses... I haven't decided whether I like them or not. I mean, I don't really like them to start off the morph, but once they get into the actual sequence, they're fine. The actual sequence I actually really like. It's just the glasses durring the morphing call that I don't care for. I do like the morphing call by itself though.
I also liked how Jarrod or whatever his name is was like taken over by Dai Shi, though it was predictable, thus making the whole secret aspect unessesary. But yeah, he does look a lot older than the other 3. It works all the same. He was pretty stupid to try to take on master mao in the first place though.
And yeah, I definitely WTF-ed at the bug thing. That was so...yeah. Short version, we don't need a commentary.
Anyway, I'm interested. So we'll see. I've tended to love every last one of the opening episodes per season, so that isn't saying much yet. __________________

I think the series is pretty cool so far, didn't want to judge until I at least saw three eps but I'm liking watching it. I can't wait to see eps focusing on each ranger, and I like how much we already know about them.

I can't wait to see the next episode myself, though I don't know who it's supposed to be about. I hope we see some Lily focus soon, but I'm not too interested in Theo yet, he seems pretty predictable. *shrugs* We'll see.

Didn't see the pics... Didn't see how what they look like was going to affect my perception of the show...
Watched episode 1. I like how they went for the more modernized "Hollywood Martial Arts" style, instead of the 80s' Karate Kid version of Mighty Morphin.
It definitely seems somewhat darker... A human turned bad guy that actually makes sense...RANGERS involved in the origin.. Putties. THEY CAN ACTUALLY FIGHT! Actually emphasis on fighting and training. Monk tattoos? Wild Force is definitely the right idea behind it, except it's sorta the opposite, since you're fighting animals with animals instead of Orgs. You also sort of have an animarium and a respect and power with animals. Morphing straight from "putties" I found a positive side. The fly also reminds me of the episode where Jindrax and Toxica are announcing a fight a Wild Force episode... The fly is no Jindrax though.. I find that "Free the Cat" fighting somewhat bleh.. at least a bit overkill against but I guess it's part of their "Order of the Cat/Claw" training. A lot of their lines do seem to be badly dubbed lines though... Purposely or not? I like Theo. He's the more serious character vs Lily's girly/heart of the team and Casey's mild-mannered humble self. Would've been my PR spin off Sentai. I think you're supposed to be annoyed by him anyway... I think part of the season should be the differences between Jared and Theo and why Theo could get tempted by the dark side better never truly join it. I don't care how "short" he is. I still wouldn't want to fight him... He homages Bruce Lee a lot, which I think is pretty cool. About the accents thing, Lily is the only who seems very over-the-top American. Everyone else besides Casey seems to have a more British accent... Gives it more of a serious feel to it... I guess they most really love 4" tvs after so little training. "I knew this guy who knew another guy who knew an 'Uncle'" No Ninja Storm fan, but take a guess...
Two big notes: The morph chant I don't find annoying. The music syncs up pretty well with the Style and storytelling is very consistent for once as well. Enemies with origin for once?! Not to mention, the Rangers themselves are sorta there to be part of that as well.. Disney Ranger fights still a bit eh though... again with the slow mo stuff? Master Mao defeating a giant. Isn't that a first for something? Defeating a giant when dead? Weren't a bunch of Power Rangers seasons banned for blowing up buildings? A villainess I care about last last season?
The Nunchaku thing is straighten stolen from Sentai.. Sentai he hits himself in his face and since then I have not watched Gekiranger. lol. Then again I'm just against some Sentai humor at times..Maybe if I watched Gekiranger subbed I'd enjoy it better.. They better make a hack-and-slash video game off this season...
Trivia notes: Is Master Mao that guy from the Matrix? No wonder they changed the morphers from Sentai gloves to sunglasses... (I hated those things in Gekiranger too!) Jarred and Camille are arch rivals in Z Gundam. Wondering if Koichi was a fan as well...

I really like how the rangers have real fighting training too, it was cool to see them kicking ass right away. And the putties too! Haha. And the tattoos are awesome! I agree, the "free the cat" thing is kinda "bleh". I like watching actual fights, not CGI kitties I like Theo as a character, too, just not personally. It's not cool when everyone is perfect and gets along. I love watching him fight, though not as much as Lily. I don't really hear the British in their accents, they all sound pretty American to me, just different types. I can't BELIEVE I didn't catch the possible Ninja Storm reference!!!I'm glad Master Mao hasn't appeared again. I don't mind him coming back but I'd hate to see too much of it. I guess they've gotten over the blowing things up outrage, for now at least! I don't like the sunglasses thing anymore, they seem so fragile!!! I can't wait to see more of Jarred and Camille-- and usually I fast-forward through the villains scenes! LOL I started every single sentence with "I" . . . and I call myself a writer . . .

I just don't find it cool, when the people can't fight back with an astral project of a zord fight... seems really unfair, when you're already winning... Probably a reason they're not doing the blow up stuff for no reason thing I guess...
Theo has that Sky/Kai/Rocky thing going for him.
I really find RJ annoying, but on the positive side, you'll see more of the Rangers themselves developing than the overreliance on the non-fighting leader, especially since Master Mao can really fight...

He's got that ... swave stoner thing going on XD. He just cracks me up. One thing...How can anyone be an extreme animal activist guy like he is yet still has meat on his pizzas?

I don't get the Rocky thing either . . . . I love RJ too, he's awesome Such a pothead! And a lot of people are animal rights activists and aren't vegetarian, it's certain practises more than it is the fact that they're killed to eat. Like fishing, in the ep, a lot of people think it's a cruel way of doing things. Or, *shrugs* Disney just didn't make the connection . . .

Ah gotcha. I always thought that animal activists were against animal slotter for meat and all that stuff. Everything I've ever heard around here just made me believe that I guess. But that makes more sense. Thanks for the help! lol
